winterlude

Winterlude (a word I just made up).

What is it?

Winterlude is a time for:

- trying to make the best of being indoors because of colder-than-I'm used-to weather

- craving potatoes (kind of like how I crave light, fruity things in summer)

- burrowing under flannel blankets with a good book and a warm cat.

- watching hours and hours of Winter Olympics coverage (what is it about "nordic combined" and "biathlon pursuit" that is so irresistible and compelling only every four years?)

- Did I already mention reading?  (This book makes me want to read this, and reread this)

- I've been to the rink a few more times and am beyond delighted at how much fun I'm having and how I'm relearning what I used to know.  I highly recommend rekindling a dormant passion.  It has done wonders for my spirit.

- scribbling in journals

And speaking of reading ... Tammy posted her reading list over at daisy yellow and wants to know about yours.

And speaking of daisy yellow ... no, really ... I can't do this blog justice.  Here's what you must do: When you are finished reading this post (ahem), go get a cup of something (tea, coffee, cocoa) and spend some time at this blog.  Lots of information, journal prompts, and creative exercises, not to mention beautiful photographs and lots and lots of color.  Please. Go there. Posthaste!

The end.

(Please note: the art journal page above is in no way meant to coordinate with this post, only meant to pretty-fy it).
